Jeff Brown has been an independent financial professional for more than 30 years.  He has taught Financial Planning at Bryant University's Executive Development Center, is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® and has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 1999. In 2006, he established Brown Advisory Group, LLC as an independent Registered Investment Advisor firm focused on providing consultative, fiduciary-level retirement planning and investment advice. 

He is also certified in behavioral finance and is trained in personal coaching through the Baptiste Institute and has participated in empowerment training programs with Tony Robbins. Combined with his study, training and certification as a yoga instructor, Jeff provides a unique perspective on personal finance and investing by integrating personal coaching techniques and several of the ancient limbs, i.e. principles of life with modern-day Behavioral Finance, i.e.'BeFi'.  BeFi is an evolving area of personal finance and investing that includes powerful research that suggests individuals' behavioral biases adversely affect long-term investment returns.

Jeff's approach includes helping clients ultimately achieve a higher level of self-content, while reducing potential stress that may be associated with personal finance and investing.  He believes this approach ultimately helps clients lead more active & personally content, financially successful lives.

Alexis joined the Brown Advisory Group team in early 2025. She manages the brand's marketing and digital presence including the website, social media channels, and assists with the East Bay Park Yoga & Wellness program. Alexis' background in graphic design and marketing brings a fresh perspective to the Brown Advisory Group story.  Alexis has also become exceptionally proficient in assisting Jeff with all aspects of financial planning software and data analysis. While not working, Alexis enjoys exploring the local libraries and playgrounds with her young daughter.

Chris McGarvey is an honors student at Providence College majoring in Finance and holds a 3.93 G.P.A. He is a Senior Analyst on the school's Student-Led Asset Management team, which manages a portion of the school's +$300 million endowment fund. Chris holds the Finance Accelerator certification from AmplifyME and the Bloomberg Market Concepts certification. Chris was selected for PC's CFA Research Challenge Team in 2025. He is slated to join Jeffries Corp upon his graduation. Chris is an avid golfer and enjoys playing club golf at PC and exploring many area courses.

Joseph, 'Jay' Morris performs general office, concierge & personal assistant duties at Brown Advisory Group, while also working in a shared capacity at East Bay Office Park for Dr. Patrick Conley, assisting with the Board of Directors of the R.I. Heritage Hall of Fame.  A Rhode Island native, Jay holds an undergraduate degree in Communications from Rhode Island College. 

Hollie Dias joined Brown Advisory Group in 2021 and assists with firm communications and press inquiries.  She holds a Master’s Degree from Columbia University, and has worked in both secondary education and communications for more than two decades.  In addition to her position with Brown Advisory Group, Hollie serves as an Adjunct Professor of Communications at Johnson & Wales University.  She enjoys exercise & fitness, as well as time on Narraganset Bay on her Formula speed boat.

Mackenzie Lagner joined us during her junior year at Providence College and helps with various office tasks and marketing projects, particularly associated with our community wellness initiative.  She has brought an impressive skill set to us – besides her major in Marketing and minor in Data Science, she serves as both a Research Analyst Fellow for the school’s Benjamin Family Social Media Fellowship and as a Lead Marketing Game Day Assistant for the Providence College Athletic Department.  She holds certifications in Google Analytics and multiple HubSpot programs, including Social Media Marketing, Advertising, and Content Strategy. Outside of academics and work, Mackenzie enjoys event planning, creative design, and exploring innovative ways to combine data insights with storytelling to build meaningful brand connections.
